This page will be updated as we know more about what we can offer to branch members and friends, although most information will continue to come through the regular email news updates.

Events held on the afternoon of the first Saturday in each month are those for all branch members and Friends. Any other training or social events will be added in as they are finalised.

6th January: Branch Winter Social – a meal and entertainment at The Heron in Herne Bay. £10 per head. All members, partners, and dependents eligible to attend and welcome. Please contact the Branch Secretary before 22 December if you wish to attend. 

3rd February: Branch meeting at Herne Mill, Herne for all members. We will discuss the BBKA’s Honey Bee Health syllabus and assessment, along with the usual attractions of the monthly Branch meeting.

2nd March: Branch meeting at Herne Mill, Herne.  All members welcome.  We will discuss reasons for not taking a look in the hive just yet (!) and Spring feeding of colonies, along with the usual attractions of the monthly Branch meeting

6th April: Branch meeting – venue and topic tbc

12 April – 14 April: BBKA Spring Convention at Harper Adams University, Shropshire, celebrating 150 years of the BBKA

20 April – 28 May: Beginner’s Course – see whitstable-hernebay-beekeepers.org.uk/about/courses-for-beekeepers-and-beginners/ for details.

11th May: Branch meeting at the campus apiary, from 2.00 pm.

5, 6 and 7 July: Annual Kent Show at the Kent Showground in Detling. The usual Kent-wide bees and beekeeping-related stalls and attractions can be expected as well as the Kent County honey show, organised by a collaboration of Kent based beekeepers associations (including KBKA). Please give the County Show and our county beekeepers your support. The Show makes a good day out for the family and, if purchased early, tickets are available online at discount.
