About us – what we do and how to make contact

Whitstable & Herne Bay Beekeepers is a branch of the Kent Bee-keepers’ Association.  The branch membership has grown considerably over the past 10 years to the point where it now has 45+ active beekeepers. We have monthly meetings (on the afternoon of the last Saturday in each month), an apiary with six hives, used for teaching and demonstration purposes, on the Canterbury campus of the University of Kent (by kind permission of the University) and a second apiary with 10 hives at a nearby farm.

The monthly meetings are well attended and vary between inspection of the teaching hives plus news/information sharing during the months when it is warm enough to open the hives, with talks and longer demonstrations during the later autumn and early winter.

If you would like to contact the branch for information about our activities or to learn more about becoming a beekeeper, please contact the Branch Secretary ( phone and email details below) in the first instance.

Our Facebook group can be found at https://www.facebook.com/groups/359167444256663/ and anyone is welcome to join.
