11th January: Branch members and family winter social at The Heron, Station Road, Herne Bay.
8th February: branch monthly meeting at Herne Mill commencing at 14:30 – all members welcome. This meeting will include an interactive presentation on bee diseases, to assist members in their preparations for the start of the active season in Spring
8th March: branch monthly meeting at Herne Mill commencing at 14:30 – all members welcome. This meeting will include an interactive presentation on the varied uses of nucs in colony management techniques and beekeeping generally.
4 – 6 April 2025 – BBKA Spring Convention at Harper Adams University, near Telford, Shropshire TF10 8NB

4 – 6 July 2025 – Kent County Show at Kent Showground, Detling, Maidstone, ME14 3JF
12 July: monthly Branch meeting of members. This month’s meeting will be held at the training apiary. All members are welcome to attend. The meeting will include an opportunity for hands on experience with the Branch colonies and potentially a demonstration of seasonally attuned management methods. The precise activities will depend on the needs of the colonies the weather and the temperament of the bees on the day.

3 – 7 August inclusive – Kent Scouts hosted scout jamboree at the Kent Showground in Detling. Kent Beekeepers Association is supporting this special event for regional national and international scouts by providing a beekeeping stand of information, educational materials and observation hive. The Branch will be represented there on Monday 4 August in particular.
25 August: Whitstable Castle Summer Fair. The Branch will have a stall at this fair with honey and hive products for sale, plus an observation hive. Whitstable Castle Summer Fair was cancelled.
6 September: monthly Branch meeting of members. This month’s meeting will be held at the training apiary. All members are welcome to attend. The meeting will include an opportunity for hands on experience with the Branch colonies and potentially a demonstration of seasonally attuned management methods. The precise activities will depend on the needs of the colonies, the weather, and the temperament of the bees on the day.
4 October: monthly Branch meeting of members. We are expecting the weather to have turned by this time, so this will be the first meeting of the autumn to be held at our winter venue in Herne Mill. The meeting will focus on the issue of local honey, what that means, how it is sold, publicised, etc.
1 November: monthly Branch meeting of members, at Herne Mill. This meeting will have a presentation/talk by Andy Fox and Andy Goldsmith entitled “Expanding your beekeeping, potential growth pains and maybe some ways to avoid the worst of it“, following their move in the last couple of years to bee farming.
6 December: Branch 2025 AGM at Herne Mill, details tbc.
